- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tsp dried thyme (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat steak dry with paper towels.
- Rub steak with olive oil.
- Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme evenly on both sides.
- Heat an oven-safe skillet over high heat.
- Sear steak for 2 minutes per side.
- Transfer skillet to oven and cook for 6-8 minutes for medium-rare (adjust time for desired doneness).
- Remove steak and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for accuracy: 125°F (52°C) for rare, 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
- Letting steak rest ensures juiciness.
