- 400g spaghetti or your favorite pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with a splash of the reserved pasta water. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
- For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce while it simmers.
