Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
  3. If the hummus is too thick, add water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lemon juice if needed.
  5. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle paprika and fresh parsley on top.
  6. Serve with pita bread, vegetable sticks, or as a spread.

Notes

  • For a spicier hummus, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • You can also add roasted red peppers or sun-dried tomatoes for a flavor twist.
