Description
A refreshing homemade lemonade made with fresh raspberries, ripe peaches, and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Ingredients
- fresh raspberries – 1 cup
- ripe peaches – 2, pitted and sliced
- lemon juice – 1 cup (freshly squeezed)
- sugar – 3/4 cup (adjust to taste)
- water – 4 cups (divided)
- mint leaves – a handful (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the fruit: In a blender, combine the fresh raspberries and sliced peaches. Blend until smooth. If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the seeds and pulp. Set aside.
- Make the lemonade base: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has completely dissolved. This should take about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Combine the ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the raspberry-peach puree, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and the sugar-water mixture. Stir well to combine.
- Add water: Pour in the remaining 3 cups of cold water to the pitcher. Stir until everything is well mixed. Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if desired.
- Chill: Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and to chill the drink.
- Serve: Fill tall glasses with ice and pour the raspberry peach lemonade over the ice. Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves and a few slices of peach for an elegant touch. You can also add a few whole raspberries on top for a beautiful presentation.
