Description
Crispy, delicious homemade potato chips made effortlessly in an air fryer. A healthier alternative to traditional fried chips with perfect crunch and flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium-sized potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and peel the potatoes. Slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick) using a mandoline or sharp knife.
- Soak the potato slices in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, sea salt, and any additional seasonings you prefer (paprika, garlic powder).
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Cook the potato slices for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Once done, remove the chips from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, make sure to dry the potato slices thoroughly after soaking.
- Feel free to experiment with different seasonings according to your taste preferences.
- Store any leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
