Description
Enjoy crispy, golden homemade potato chips made effortlessly in your air fryer. Perfect as a snack or side dish!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
- Wash and peel the potatoes. Use a mandoline slicer or sharp knife to slice the potatoes very thinly, about 1/16 inch thick.
- Soak the potato slices in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch; this helps in achieving crispiness.
- Drain the potato slices and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, salt, and any additional seasonings you prefer.
- Place the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry the potato slices for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the chips from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Experiment with different seasonings to customize your chips.
- For extra crunch, ensure the potato slices are as dry as possible before cooking.
- Store leftover chips in an airtight container to keep them crispy.
