Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 1/2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl.
  2. Warm milk, water, and butter until melted. Let cool slightly.
  3. Add wet ingredients and egg to dry mix. Knead until smooth.
  4. Cover dough and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  6. Spread softened butter, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll tightly and cut into 12 pieces.
  8. Place in a greased pan and let rise for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden.
