Description
A rich and creamy beef stroganoff made with tender strips of beef, sautéed mushrooms, and a delicious sour cream sauce, served over egg noodles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onions and garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms and cook until they are browned, about 5 minutes.
- Return the beef to the skillet. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the sour cream. Mix until well combined and heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the beef stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can marinate the beef in Worcestershire sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or peas for extra nutrition.
- If you want a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir into the sauce before adding sour cream.
