A rich and creamy beef stroganoff made with tender strips of beef, sautéed mushrooms, and a delicious sour cream sauce, served over egg noodles.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onions and garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add the mushrooms and cook until they are browned, about 5 minutes.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in the sour cream. Mix until well combined and heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the beef stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can marinate the beef in Worcestershire sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or peas for extra nutrition.
  • If you want a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir into the sauce before adding sour cream.
