Description

A quick and flavorful hibachi-style chicken fried rice that brings the taste of Japanese teppanyaki to your home.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked white rice (preferably day-old)
  • 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast (about 6 oz), diced
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced carrots
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add diced chicken and cook until no longer pink, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, melt butter and scramble the eggs. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add onions, carrots, and garlic to the pan. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add peas and cooked rice. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
  6. Return chicken and eggs to the pan. Add soy sauce and sesame oil.
  7. Toss everything together and cook for 1-2 more minutes.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Use cold, day-old rice for best texture.
  • Cut all ingredients into uniform sizes for even cooking.
  • Cook on high heat for authentic hibachi flavor.
