- 2 cups macaroni pasta
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup gouda cheese, shredded
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Breadcrumbs for topping
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour to the melted butter and whisk to create a roux.
- Slowly pour in the milk while continuing to whisk until the mixture is smooth.
- Add the cheddar, mozzarella, and gouda cheeses to the sauce and stir until melted.
- Season the cheese sauce with nutmeg, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish.
- Top with breadcrumbs mixed with a little melted butter.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
