This deliciously rich chocolate cake features a fun spiderweb design, making it the perfect centerpiece for any Halloween celebration.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup dark chocolate frosting
- 1/2 cup white chocolate for spiderweb
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Once cooled, frost the top of one cake layer with dark chocolate frosting.
- Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the entire cake.
- Melt the white chocolate and use a piping bag to create a spiderweb design on top of the frosted cake.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
