  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Pita bread or wraps (for serving)
  • Tzatziki sauce or garlic sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the spices to bloom.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
