- 1 lb Chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 Cucumber
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 tsp Dried oregano
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper
- 4 Pita bread
- as desired Fresh vegetables (tomatoes, onions)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook marinated chicken for 6-7 minutes per side until cooked through and crispy.
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the tzatziki sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl.
- Once chicken is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes, then slice into strips.
- Warm pita bread on the grill or in a skillet.
- Assemble gyros by placing sliced chicken on pita bread, topping with tzatziki sauce and fresh vegetables.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add some fresh herbs like dill or mint to the tzatziki sauce.
- Feel free to customize the toppings with your favorite vegetables.
