- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 4 pita bread rounds
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup Kalamata olives
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
Instructions
- Mix yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Add chicken and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Grill or pan-fry chicken for 6-8 minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Slice chicken into thin strips.
- Warm pita bread in a skillet or oven.
- Assemble gyros by placing chicken, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, olives, and feta cheese on pita.
- Fold pita and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of fresh dill or parsley.
- Use whole wheat pita for a healthier option.
- Marinate chicken overnight for deeper flavor.
