- 500g chicken breast, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced red onions
- For Tzatziki: 1 cup Greek yogurt, 1/2 cucumber grated, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tsp minced garlic, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tbsp chopped dill
Instructions
- Mix chicken with olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Marinate for 30 minutes.
- Cook chicken in a pan over medium heat until fully done, about 6-8 minutes.
- For tzatziki, combine yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and dill. Stir well.
- Warm pita breads slightly.
- Assemble gyros: spread tzatziki on pita, add chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions.
- Fold and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can grill the chicken for a smoky flavor.
- Let the tzatziki sit for 30 minutes before serving for better taste.
