Description
Tender sirloin steak bites seasoned with garlic and Parmesan, served with creamy mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500 g (about 1 lb) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 50 g (about 1/2 cup) Parmesan cheese, grated
- 60 g (about 4 tablespoons) butter, divided
- 120 ml (about 1/2 cup) heavy cream
- 500 g (about 1 lb) potatoes, peeled and cubed
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the potatoes: In a large pot, add the cubed potatoes and cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Add a pinch of salt and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
- Mash the potatoes: Add 30 g (about 2 tablespoons) of butter and the heavy cream to the drained potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm.
- Cook the steak bites: In a large skillet, melt the remaining 30 g (about 2 tablespoons) of butter over medium-high heat. Add the sirloin steak pieces in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding. Season with salt and pepper. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preference.
- Add garlic: Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
- Incorporate Parmesan: Sprinkle grated Parmesan over the steak bites, tossing to coat. Cook for 1 minute until cheese melts slightly.
- Serve: Plate mashed potatoes and top with steak bites. Garnish with parsley.
- Enjoy: Serve hot.
Notes
- Use medium-high heat for a good sear on the steak.
- For extra creaminess, add more butter or cream to the mashed potatoes.
- Adjust garlic and Parmesan to taste.
