Description

Tender sirloin steak bites seasoned with garlic and Parmesan, served with creamy mashed potatoes.


Ingredients

  • 500 g (about 1 lb) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 50 g (about 1/2 cup) Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 60 g (about 4 tablespoons) butter, divided
  • 120 ml (about 1/2 cup) heavy cream
  • 500 g (about 1 lb) potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the potatoes: In a large pot, add the cubed potatoes and cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Add a pinch of salt and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
  2. Mash the potatoes: Add 30 g (about 2 tablespoons) of butter and the heavy cream to the drained potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm.
  3. Cook the steak bites: In a large skillet, melt the remaining 30 g (about 2 tablespoons) of butter over medium-high heat. Add the sirloin steak pieces in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding. Season with salt and pepper. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preference.
  4. Add garlic: Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
  5. Incorporate Parmesan: Sprinkle grated Parmesan over the steak bites, tossing to coat. Cook for 1 minute until cheese melts slightly.
  6. Serve: Plate mashed potatoes and top with steak bites. Garnish with parsley.
  7. Enjoy: Serve hot.
