- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, minced garlic, and chopped rosemary.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and place a baking pan inside to heat.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a rectangle to fit the heated baking pan.
- Transfer the dough to the hot baking pan and press it out to fit the pan.
- Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with additional herbs or toppings as desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing into sandwiches.
