- 2 (8 oz) ribeye or sirloin steaks (1 inch thick)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Remove steaks from the fridge 30 minutes before cooking to bring to room temperature.
- Season both sides of the steak with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Add steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time for desired doneness).
- Reduce heat to low, add butter and minced garlic to the skillet.
- Spoon melted garlic butter over steaks for 1-2 minutes.
- Remove steaks from the skillet, let rest for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

- Use a meat thermometer for accurate doneness (130°F for medium-rare).
- Letting the steak rest ensures juiciness.
- Substitute dried rosemary if thyme is unavailable.
