- 1 loaf French bread, cut into cubes
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Maple syrup for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Place the cubed French bread in the baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the bread, pressing down to soak all pieces.
- Drizzle melted butter on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and set.
- Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar.
- Serve warm with maple syrup.

- You can prepare this the night before and refrigerate overnight.
- Use stale bread for better texture.
