  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup (for serving)
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Fresh berries (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  2. Place the cubed French bread into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Gently press down any bread that is floating on top.
  3. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 4 hours).
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the plastic wrap from the baking dish.
  5. Bake the French toast bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  6. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, and fresh berries if desired.
