- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Shape into meatballs and bake for 20 minutes.
- In a skillet, melt butter and cook onions until caramelized.
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add meatballs to the sauce and cook for 5 more minutes.
- Sprinkle with Gruyère cheese before serving.
