French fries air fryer: Perfectly Crispy Fries in 20 Minutes

Description

Crispy and delicious air fryer french fries made with just a few simple ingredients. Perfectly seasoned and healthier than traditional fries!


Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the potato strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  6. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once cooked, remove the fries from the air fryer and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispy fries, make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • You can experiment with different seasonings like cayenne pepper or Italian herbs for added flavor.
  • Leftover fries can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge and reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes.
