Ingredients

  • 1 lb white fish fillets (like cod or tilapia)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • For the lime crema:
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture onto the fish fillets.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned fish and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  3. While the fish is cooking, prepare the lime crema by whisking together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
  4. Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
  5. To assemble the tacos, place a piece of fish on each tortilla, top with shredded cabbage, avocado slices, and cilantro. Drizzle with lime crema.
  6. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Feel free to use any white fish you prefer.
  • You can add other toppings like diced tomatoes, jalapeños, or cheese.
  • For a spicier kick, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the lime crema.
