Description
Delicious and fresh fish tacos topped with a zesty lime crema and crunchy cabbage slaw.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb white fish fillets (like cod or tilapia)
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 8 small corn tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
- For the lime crema:
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture onto the fish fillets.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned fish and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- While the fish is cooking, prepare the lime crema by whisking together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
- To assemble the tacos, place a piece of fish on each tortilla, top with shredded cabbage, avocado slices, and cilantro. Drizzle with lime crema.
- Serve with lime wedges on the side.
Notes
- Feel free to use any white fish you prefer.
- You can add other toppings like diced tomatoes, jalapeños, or cheese.
- For a spicier kick, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the lime crema.
