A moist and delicious cake perfect for celebrating Father’s Day. This cake is layered with rich chocolate frosting and decorated with personalized touches to make it special.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 and 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup chocolate frosting
- Decorative items (sprinkles, edible letters, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the boiling water until well combined (the batter will be thin).
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely on wire racks.
- Once cooled, spread chocolate frosting between the layers and on the top and sides of the cake.
- Decorate with sprinkles or edible letters to personalize for Father’s Day.
Notes
- For a more flavorful cake, consider adding a teaspoon of coffee granules to the boiling water.
- You can also substitute half of the all-purpose flour with almond flour for a different texture.
- This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in an airtight container.
