Description

A delightful homemade version of Fannie May candy, combining chocolate and nuts for a rich, sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries or cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the semisweet and milk chocolate chips in a double boiler over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  3. Fold in the chopped nuts, coconut, and dried cherries or cranberries until evenly distributed.
  4. Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  5. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
  7. Once set, lift the candy out of the dish using the parchment paper and cut into squares or rectangles.
