Description
A delightful homemade version of Fannie May candy, combining chocolate and nuts for a rich, sweet treat.
Ingredients

- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
- 1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut
- 1/2 cup dried cherries or cranberries
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Melt the semisweet and milk chocolate chips in a double boiler over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Fold in the chopped nuts, coconut, and dried cherries or cranberries until evenly distributed.
- Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
- Once set, lift the candy out of the dish using the parchment paper and cut into squares or rectangles.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute the nuts and dried fruit with your favorites.
- Store the Fannie May candy in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
