  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Rinse turkey and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Mix melted butter, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Brush butter mixture over the turkey, including under the skin.
  5. Place onion, carrots, and celery inside the turkey cavity.
  6. Place turkey on a rack in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the pan.
  7. Roast for 3-4 hours, basting every 30 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Let rest for 20 minutes before carving.
