Delicious and easy sourdough cinnamon rolls made with a tangy sourdough starter.
Ingredients

- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix sourdough starter, milk, sugar, melted butter, and egg.
- Add flour and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
- Spread melted butter, sprinkle cinnamon, brown sugar, and raisins on top.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing and drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- Use active sourdough starter for best results.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of cinnamon and sugar to your taste.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
