Simple recipe for traditional Irish soda bread.

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add buttermilk gradually, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough gently on a floured surface.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet.
- Cut a cross on top of the loaf.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
- Store bread in an airtight container.
- Best consumed within two days.
- Can add raisins for a sweet version.
