Description

A simple and delicious teriyaki chicken recipe made in a crockpot. Just dump the ingredients and let the slow cooker do the work.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken thighs in the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  5. Remove chicken and shred or slice.
  6. Mix cornstarch and water, then stir into the crockpot sauce.
  7. Return chicken to the crockpot and cook for 15 more minutes.
  8. Top with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, add more cornstarch.
  • Serve over rice or steamed vegetables.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
