Description
A delicious and hearty deep dish pizza with a thick, flaky crust and layers of cheese, sauce, and your favorite toppings.

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110°F)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Your favorite toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, etc.)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, and sugar. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Mix the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients and add olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a deep dish pizza pan with olive oil.
- Roll out the dough and press it into the prepared pan, covering the sides. Layer shredded mozzarella cheese on the bottom.
- Spread pizza sauce over the cheese, then add your favorite toppings. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a crispier crust, pre-bake the crust for 10 minutes before adding toppings.
- Feel free to customize toppings according to your preference.
