- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the cucumbers and red onion.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the white vinegar, olive oil, sugar, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Pour the dressing over the cucumber and onion mixture and toss to coat evenly.
- If using, add the fresh dill and mix gently.
- Let the salad sit for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- For a creamier version, you can add sour cream or Greek yogurt to the dressing.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or tomatoes for added color and flavor.
