Description

Crunchy falafel wraps with garlic tahini sauce are a delicious and nutritious meal. Crispy falafel balls are paired with fresh vegetables and drizzled with creamy garlic tahini sauce for a flavorful bite.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas (soaked overnight)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Oil for frying
  • 4 pita breads or wraps
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato (sliced)
  • 1/2 cucumber (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse soaked chickpeas.
  2. Blend chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper in a food processor.
  3. Add baking soda and flour, then pulse until well combined.
  4. Shape mixture into small balls and flatten slightly.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and fry falafel until golden brown.
  6. Mix tahini, minced garlic, lemon juice, water, and salt to make the sauce.
  7. Warm pita bread and assemble with falafel, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and tahini sauce.
  8. Roll or fold the wrap and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Soak chickpeas for at least 12 hours for best texture.
  • Do not use canned chickpeas as they make the falafel mushy.
  • Adjust garlic in tahini sauce to your taste.
  • Store leftover falafel in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
