  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

These crispy oven chicken wings are the perfect party snack or game day treat. With a few simple steps, you can achieve a perfectly crispy texture every time you make them.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving crispy skin.
  3. Add baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the wings. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Make sure they are not touching to allow proper air circulation.
  5. Spray the wings lightly with cooking spray or brush with a little oil to help them crisp up.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once done, remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the wings in your favorite sauce for a few hours before coating them with the seasoning.
  • To make them spicy, toss the wings in hot sauce after baking.
  • These wings can be served with various dips like ranch, blue cheese, or your favorite hot sauce.
