Description
These crispy oven chicken wings are the perfect party snack or game day treat. With a few simple steps, you can achieve a perfectly crispy texture every time you make them.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Cooking spray or oil for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving crispy skin.
- Add baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the wings. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Make sure they are not touching to allow proper air circulation.
- Spray the wings lightly with cooking spray or brush with a little oil to help them crisp up.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
- Once done, remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the wings in your favorite sauce for a few hours before coating them with the seasoning.
- To make them spicy, toss the wings in hot sauce after baking.
- These wings can be served with various dips like ranch, blue cheese, or your favorite hot sauce.
