- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions
- Slice the onions into rings and separate them.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, then into the buttermilk, and back into the flour mixture to coat.
- Next, dip the coated rings into the breadcrumbs to ensure they are fully covered.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.

- For extra flavor, you can add spices like paprika or garlic powder to the flour mixture.
