Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp pickle relish
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 burger buns
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
  • Lettuce and sliced tomato for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge each fillet in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the fish for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  5. Mix mayonnaise, pickle relish, lemon juice, and garlic powder to make tartar sauce.
  6. Toast the buns lightly if desired.
