  • 4 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, soak the chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, coating evenly.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
  5. Place the coated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, skin side up, making sure not to overcrowd.
  6. Spray the tops of the chicken with non-stick spray for extra crispiness.
  7. Cook for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
