  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, stirring for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Add cooked rigatoni and Parmesan cheese. Toss to coat evenly.
