- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (165g) packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups (281g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the wet mixture.
- Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
- For softer cookies, do not overbake.
- You can substitute half of the chocolate chips for nuts if desired.
- Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
