Description

Juicy hamburger steaks served with a rich caramelized onion sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Shape into 4 equal patties.
  3. Cook patties in a skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and cook onions until caramelized.
  5. Sprinkle flour over onions and stir.
  6. Gradually add beef broth while stirring until sauce thickens.
  7. Return patties to the skillet and simmer in sauce for 2 minutes.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for less grease.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
