Description
Juicy hamburger steaks served with a rich caramelized onion sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Shape into 4 equal patties.
- Cook patties in a skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and cook onions until caramelized.
- Sprinkle flour over onions and stir.
- Gradually add beef broth while stirring until sauce thickens.
- Return patties to the skillet and simmer in sauce for 2 minutes.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef for less grease.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
- Leftovers keep refrigerated for up to 3 days.
