Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced fresh peaches
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 4 tablespoons ice water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. Pour peach mixture into a 9-inch pie dish. Dot with butter.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  5. Add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough forms.
  6. Roll dough into a circle and place over peaches. Trim edges and cut slits in the top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.

  • Use ripe peaches for best flavor.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
