Description

A delicious and juicy classic burger that is easy to make at home. Perfect for grilling season or any time you’re craving a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese (optional)
  • Lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion for toppings
  • Ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise for condiments

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and pepper until combined. Avoid over-mixing.
  3. Divide the meat into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each burger.
  4. Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side.
  5. Flip the burgers and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if desired.
  6. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each burger during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  7. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  8. Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the buns and adding your choice of lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, and condiments.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy your classic burger!

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, try adding a few drops of liquid smoke to the beef mixture.
  • Experiment with different seasonings or toppings to customize your burger.
  • For best results, use fresh ground beef and avoid previously frozen meat.
