- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (optional)
- Lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion for toppings
- Ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise for condiments
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and pepper until combined. Avoid over-mixing.
- Divide the meat into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each burger.
- Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side.
- Flip the burgers and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if desired.
- If using cheese, add a slice on top of each burger during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the buns and adding your choice of lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, and condiments.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your classic burger!
