Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed to 110°F
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warmed milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, salt, and half of the flour. Mix until combined.
  3. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread melted butter over the dough and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly.
  8. Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. For the icing, whisk together powdered sugar, cream cheese, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
