  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add the egg, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the top.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. While the rolls are baking, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the icing.
  12. Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls before serving.

  • For a richer flavor, you can add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling.
