- 1 large turkey (14–16 pounds)
- 4 cups stuffing
- 1 cup butter
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups green beans
- 3 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
- 1 apple pie
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and rinsing it.
- Stuff the turkey with stuffing.
- Rub the turkey with butter and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
- Roast the turkey for about 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- While the turkey cooks, steam the green beans.
- Prepare the mashed potatoes by boiling then mashing them with butter and milk.
- Serve the turkey with sides of green beans, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce.
- Finish the meal with apple pie for dessert.
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Make sure to check the turkey’s temperature with a meat thermometer.
- Adjust cooking time based on the turkey’s weight.
