Description

A savory Chinese pepper steak dish with tender beef slices and crisp bell peppers in a flavorful sauce.


Ingredients

  • 500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 bell peppers (1 red, 1 green), sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef slices with soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over high heat and stir-fry beef until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  4. Add bell peppers and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  5. Mix oyster sauce, sugar, and beef broth, then pour into the pan.
  6. Return beef to the pan and cook until sauce thickens.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice.

  • Slice beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Adjust black pepper for spiciness.
  • Substitute chicken broth if beef broth is unavailable.
