Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and beef broth to make the sauce.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan over high heat. Stir-fry the beef for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add the remaining oil to the pan. Stir-fry garlic for 30 seconds, then add broccoli and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Return the beef to the pan. Pour in the sauce and stir until thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil and serve hot over rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef in 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tsp cornstarch for 15 minutes before cooking.
