Description
These honey garlic chicken thighs are juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Perfectly baked or grilled, they make a great weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or preheat your grill.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken thighs in a baking dish or a large zip-top bag and pour half of the marinade over the chicken. Make sure the chicken is well-coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator.
- If baking, place the chicken thighs skin-side up in the baking dish and pour the remaining marinade over them. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). If grilling, cook the chicken thighs on medium-high heat for about 6-7 minutes on each side, brushing with the marinade occasionally.
- Once cooked, let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, broil the chicken thighs for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking.
- You can substitute chicken breast if you prefer, but the cooking time may vary.
