Description

These honey garlic chicken thighs are juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Perfectly baked or grilled, they make a great weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or preheat your grill.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the chicken thighs in a baking dish or a large zip-top bag and pour half of the marinade over the chicken. Make sure the chicken is well-coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator.
  4. If baking, place the chicken thighs skin-side up in the baking dish and pour the remaining marinade over them. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). If grilling, cook the chicken thighs on medium-high heat for about 6-7 minutes on each side, brushing with the marinade occasionally.
  5. Once cooked, let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, broil the chicken thighs for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking.
  • You can substitute chicken breast if you prefer, but the cooking time may vary.
