Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 egg
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- for frying oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if you want to keep the tenders warm while frying.
- In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In another shallow dish, place the beaten eggs.
- In a third shallow dish, add the bread crumbs.
- Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg, and finally coat with bread crumbs, pressing down to adhere.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken tenders in batches, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken tenders and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
- If desired, place cooked tenders on a baking sheet in the oven to keep warm until all are cooked.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in buttermilk for a few hours before breading.
- Try adding spices like paprika or cayenne pepper to the bread crumbs for a kick.
