Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, soak the chicken tenders in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, and coat each tender in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the chicken tenders in a single layer, making sure they do not touch.
  6. Spray the tops of the chicken tenders lightly with cooking spray.
  7. Cook in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
  8. Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
