Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add garlic, ginger, and green chilies; cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates.
  5. Add chicken pieces, curry powder, turmeric, and salt; mix well.
  6. Cover and cook for 15 minutes on low heat.
  7. Pour in coconut milk and simmer for another 10 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
